چکیده

Adaptive statistics for counting processes need particular concentration inequalities to define and calibrate the methods as well as to precise the theoretical performance of the statistical inference. The present article is a small (non exhaustive) review of existing concentration inequalities that are useful in this context. Mathematics Subject Classification: 62G05, 62G10, 62M07, 62M09, 60G55, 60E15.

Adaptive estimation of the intensity of inhomogeneous Poisson processes via concentration inequalities

In this paper, we establish oracle inequalities for penalized projection estimators of the intensity of an inhomogeneous Poisson process. We study consequently the adaptive properties of penalized projection estimators. At first we provide lower bounds for the minimax risk over various sets of smoothness for the intensity and then we prove that our estimators achieve these lower bounds up to so...

Monitoring and Diagnosing Multistage Processes: A Review of Cause Selecting Control Charts

A review of the literature on cause selecting charts (CSCs) in multistage processes is given, with a concentration on developments which have occurred since 1993. Model based control charts and multiple cause selecting charts (MCSCs) are reviewed. Several articles based on normally and non-normally distributed outgoing quality characteristics are analyzed and important issues such as economic d...

Moment inequalities for functions of independent random variables

A general method for obtaining moment inequalities for functions of independent random variables is presented. It is a generalization of the entropy method which has been used to derive concentration inequalities for such functions [7], and is based on a generalized tensorization inequality due to Lata la and Oleszkiewicz [25]. The new inequalities prove to be a versatile tool in a wide range o...

Moment Inequalities for Functions of Independent Random Variables by Stéphane Boucheron,1 Olivier Bousquet,

A general method for obtaining moment inequalities for functions of independent random variables is presented. It is a generalization of the entropy method which has been used to derive concentration inequalities for such functions [Boucheron, Lugosi and Massart Ann. Probab. 31 (2003) 1583–1614], and is based on a generalized tensorization inequality due to Latała and Oleszkiewicz [Lecture Note...
